The rumour mill sprung into action this week as Hoddesdon Town FC were reputed to be linked with one of the hottest talents on the market.
And we are delighted to confirm that Greene King 'Level Head' is our newest signing for the upcoming season!
Level Head is quite simply a perfectly-executed session IPA. The aroma is hoppy, balanced between tropical and grapefruit notes, and at 4% ABV it’s a truly sessionable beer.
Winner of a silver medal at the 2023 World Beer Awards in the session IPA category, this hot-shot is a born winner and will thrill the Lowfield crowd on match days.
A Greene King spokesman commented on the deal, saying 'Our hometown of Bury St Edmunds takes its name from King Edmund, the original Patron Saint of England and King of East Anglia. The story of St Edmund tells of the brave King Edmund who was killed by Danish invaders on 20 November 869 after refusing to denounce his Christianity. The story goes that after being tied to a tree and shot full of arrows he was then beheaded. The king's body was found but his head was missing. His supporters heard a wolf call to them and they found him guarding the king's head, which was then reunited with his body and by miracle reattached! Keep it steady, just like Eddie...'

We are delighted to have secured the deal with Greene King which will see 'Level Head' lining up for us behind the bar next season. Representatives from both sides were locked in negotiation for weeks, as they thrashed out the deal to bring our new star to Lowfield.
Alongside our new signing, we are delighted to announce our 'retained' list for next season, including Spanish import 'Cruzcampo Lager', young English talent 'Inch's Apple Cider', Irish International 'Guinness', Italian veteran 'Birra Moretti' and Australian favourite, 'Fosters'.
It truly is an impressive line up and we are thrilled to do our business early, get the deal done and signed on the dotted line, before the window slams shut.
