Sad news has reached us this evening on the passing of Soner Ali.
Soner was instrumental at our club for many years, both with our youth section and helping to facilitate our inclusive team on Saturday mornings, giving football opportunities to youngsters including those with special needs. He coached and managed teams at Hoddesdon Town for a long period and was an integral part of club life.
Hoddesdon Town stalwart Colin Sinden commented 'Such a lovely guy, and a real clubman. Without any hesitation when asked, he gladly fabricated and donated two much needed pieces of stoneware items in the clubhouse. He was a true friend and will be sorely missed.'
Soner will be remembered fondly by us all for his hard work and dedication to helping others.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family and all who knew him. A minute's silence will be held prior to our game on Saturday at Lowfield v Tower Hamlets.
Rest in peace.
